Because the UK Banks make high charges for dealing with small value foreign currency cheques, for small orders we ask people to send their local currency (the equivalent in their local currency to the UK Sterling Price). This currency is sent entirely at our risk.
Once you inform us that you have sent the currency, we will act as though we have already received. As soon as you post your payment, E-mail us to say that it has been sent and we will dispatch your order immediately. Your order will be sent by Air post, post paid by us.
Please also confirm your full postal address.
The majority of people who wish to purchase our devices appreciate how we are trying to make it as easy as possible for anyone, in any country, to purchase and pay for our products. A few people however have been suspicious at us asking people to just send currency in the post. Perhaps I can explain more fully the reason why.
The UK banks have informed us that they will make a minimum charge of approximately 10 UK pounds to clear any cheque drawn on an overseas bank. So, on a purchase of a full pack of Rainbow Foil at a price of 20 UK pounds, paid for by a bank cheque drawn on an overseas bank, the bank charges of 10 UK pounds would be exorbitant and therefore not acceptable to us. So, to overcome that problem, for small value purchases, we just ask people to send their country's currency to the value of the UK price of the item they wish to purchase. Also, we cannot be fairer than telling people that the currency is sent entirely at our risk.
Obviously, for any higher value purchases of say 100 UK pounds or more, a personal cheque, drawn on an overseas bank would be safer and would be perfectly acceptable to us. A bank charge of 10 UK pounds on a payment of 100 UK pounds (although it is 10% of the purchase price) is not a horrendous chunk of the payment and therefore acceptable to us.
